if you're going to "defend" here don't 3-bet - your hand isn't good enough to re-raise unless he raises 60% of his hands

I just fold here though

I like the turn check, it makes your river decision much easier.

I'm in favour of donking the turn as well. As long as villian isn't aggressive enough to three-bet, and has at least a 10% percent chance to fold, I think betting the turn is best. I give hero 10 outs total.

donk the turn:

The seven is from the bet we collect on the turn when we're called plus a half bet on the river when we hit.

EV = .1(5.5) + .9(10/46)(7) - .9(36/46)(1)
EV = 1.22

donk the turn and call a raise:

assuming we won't collect anymore bets on the river

EV = .1(5.5) + .9(10/46)(7.5) - .9(36/46)(2)
EV = .61

check/call:

assuming you'll collect an extra bet on the river

EV = (10/46)(7.5)-(36/46)(1)

EV = .85

My math could be wrong, please let me know if it is.

I don't like the PF re-raise. I call and bet the flop--either you have him or you don't. If he raises, call or fold. With that flop I call one bet. The Queen is good on the turn, but you don't have the odds to bet or call for the straight draw. Plus, you run into problems if a king, jack, or a club falls. So your overcard and jack, I think, are not full outs. I'm pretty sure you won this hand, but you were probably way behind at the flop. Even if you weren't, I don't think this is a place to take the chance.

you do see that he's either just stealing or raises with a very marginal hand here which means I am probably ahead.
Plus if I reraise and a scary card comes on the flop (like an A) he would probably fold to my bet vs I would have to fold to his.

Why not? OESD and an overcard? I have more than enough.
