Re: 97o from SB NL200
I like your putting him all-in. He's probably got an overpair. Could be anything from AA-TT but you would think you'd have heard from AA,KK, or a set. Could be a slowplayed set of 3's, but maybe he folds these to your raise. If he's slowplayed one of the other sets you'll end up losing a bunch anyway.

Re: 97o from SB NL200
I don't think TT-AA is very likely considering the lack of preflop action. I can however definetly see UTG having either top pair or some draw he likes, in which case you should be getting the money in now when he's still thinking he "could hit". I wouldn't be too worried about BB.

Re: 97o from SB NL200
This would be a pretty bad call by the villain if he is on a draw. He could easily have something like A9 or any pocket pair 10's or lower. I think your play is decent, if he as a set you are going to lose a lot anyway as Leptyne mentioned. This of course is assuming no reads.

Re: 97o from SB NL200
Yeah ofcourse it depends on reads, but the pot is so big I think he has troubles letting go of this one regardless of what he's holding. Call and put half on turn half on river might get more out of some hands, but I really wanna get more money in now to prevent future mistakes if a scarecard hits (a T for example, "does he have 9T? 68? maybe I should slow down?") and it gives your opponent a chance to make a mistake calling with a draw, being tempted by the huge pot. I also like to win the big pots now, instead of waiting to milk out every last bit

Re: 97o from SB NL200
Id be really worried that the coldcaller has a set. I think I push too because 8T 86 are possible, but I dont like the coldcall at all.

Re: 97o from SB NL200
You're only really worried about protecting your hand from two hands, T8 and 86...neither of which are that likely for villian. Therefore your primary concern is extracting value from worse hands - you are going bust here against a set. Pushing this flop doesn't seem like the best way to get your opp's money when he has a better hand. I would just call and bet the turn.

Re: 97o from SB NL200
Any reads on UTG? Any way he limps in with/goes broke here with A9?
I definately think you're ahead of BB a lot, but unless UTG is open limping a lot with suited gappers or will go broke with a 9/donkey overpair, I would seriously debate letting this go on the flop. |
