Woo hoo, third! (nc)

Well all my poker friends are asleep or offline and I gotta tell someone... I just took third in the 10pm party speed tourny for a cool $1800 return on my $30 buy in. By far the largest tourny field (720 people) that I've made it this far in.

It's amazing how the speed tournys that I normally despise can be a ton of fun when I have a lot of chips to play with. [img]/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

Congrats...I guess it's a good thing you're able to look at things on the brightside, instead of thinking to yourself how close you were to 1st and even more money.

Hard to complain though.. It's really a crapshoot once you get to the last few in a speed tourny I got my chips in the middle at the right tiem, just didnt quite work out.

4 left. Blinds at 50k/100k, I'm sitting on about 130k. SB is in for about 1/4 of his stack, BB is blinded all in for only about 30k, UTG pushes with a stack slightly larger than mine. I find myself sitting on ATc and figure we might as well get this tourny over in one hand. SB calls behind me (he has everyone covered).

SB shows JJ, BB shows rags and UTG shows KTo.

I hit my A but JJ made a set essentially giving him the tournament. If I knew sb had a monster I wouldn't have called, obviously, and would have probably got 2nd, but I like my play here. No way I could put the SB on having a high pair.
