Default life is pain lately, so here are basic hands

arty Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (6 max, 6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

BB ($194.30)
Hero ($197)
MP ($317.60)
CO ($197)
Button ($329.29)
SB ($305.90)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $1.
Hero raises to $8</font>, MP calls $8, 1 fold</font>, Button calls $8, 2 folds</font>.

Flop: ($27) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)</font>
Hero bets $20</font>, MP folds, Button calls $20.

Turn: ($67) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)</font>
Hero bets $30</font>, Button raises to $85</font>, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $182

I hate the way I play the turn. Does everyone else just check fold?

it's not horrible, the way you played it. Against a solid/tricky opponent who you know will see the opportunity to take it away, i check/fold the turn. It's weak, but look for better spots.

Against weak tightie, i bet about what you did. Tough hand OOP.

Not terrible, but your bet on the turn looks weak, a solid thinking aggressive player could do this (raise your bet) with air. With no read included I like a bigger bet on the turn, then we can feel better about folding if he reraises.

not a fan.

if he calls the big bet, then we check fold the river despite the awkward stack to potsize?

I think its fairly rare that villain has complete air here.

makes no sense for them to just smoothcall the flop with complete air.

arty poker? So many strange visuals come to mind....

Anyway, I bet $40 on the turn, then fold but that might be too much. As someone else said, the smaller you bet, the greater likelihood of the raise being a bluff or semibluff. If I bet ~2/3 and get raised, I feel pretty good about folding.
