Default What a Jopke

What a jopke...

--A moderating policy supposedly designed to protect people like PP (that is, Dynasty's alleged "tough stance" towards people who mock those players who are public figures), combined with...

--Mat being tired when working (but not too tired to be deleting threads I guess...) and supposedly not realizing who PP is (if you simply take Mat's long explanation at face value...), combined with...

--Mason (who is reportedly a pretty honerable and even-handed guy at least most of the time) weirdly going off the reservation (as if he's trying to produce a "PP is gone" result for some reason...), sending a kind of obnoxious e-mail to PP demanding BOTH a private AND public apology for a PP original post that wasn't even that rude to begin with (no profanity, not trolling, etc.)...all leading to

--PP now obviously being gone from the site (whether or not he stays "banned", since it's not like he's under contract to post here to begin with), absent something happening to undo that pointless result (see idea below on that front).

Seriously Mason, for the first time in the history of the republic, a dual private-public apology must be demanded from PP over a pretty innocuous OP, and it's going to be at the very same time that you're for the first time retroactively extending a "writer's are subject to higher standards" rule to new categories of people, and then also applying that "higher standard" to a OP from one of your best site contributors (PP) that simply expressed his opinion to the rest of us about something people care about? What exactly is the "higher standard", that people are not allowed to criticize Dynasty? I mean, Dynasty seems like a nice, smart guy and all, but doesn't a "WE SAID NO CRITICISMS" position strike you as a little extreme?

Once the poll has fully informed you guys that your customers want PP back by a large margin, it's probably worth keeping in mind that a mere "ban reversal" will make zero difference in actually bringing PP back.

Luckily though, this is one of those times where "popular demand of the customers", plus "you did the wrong thing", plus "good business sense" (since PP adds high quality and entertaining content to a site from which you guys, but not him, make money), all come together in support of the obvious fix.

You guys remember, it's what they teach in kindergarten...When you make a mistake that hurts someone, say you're sorry.

If you post a dual (that is, Mason and Mat) public apology to PP on his website (which shouldn't be all that hard to do--the starting point could be a paragraph from what Mat already posted in the other thread here), 'splainin the mistake, apologizing and asking him to please come back, perhaps he'll then come back and continue helping you guys to make money by providing interesting content for your site for free.

IMHO, that is
