Default Question about Comps from Small Cash Poker Games

Let me preface this by admitting that I am a B&M newbie. Played a lot of online poker and looking to start playing some live.

I am getting ready to make the first of what I hope to be semi regular trips to AC. I know that for regular table games and such reward cards are obvious. However, I am wondering if casinos comp out much for low level games. By low level I am thinking of 2/4 up to about 6/12. Is it worth getting involved in these programs if I am a poker player only?

If so any info on how they are used would be helpful. I have seen them used in slot machines, but not sure how it would work in the poker room.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Dave

If you are going to put any time at all in, get comped. I am not familiar with the amounts but even at 50 cents an hour, it adds up. Maybe you'll want to get a room there sometime, being logged in helps you get a much better rate than prevailing rate.

At Borgata its 50c/hr at the 2/4 tables. $1/hr at 3/6 and 6/12. I use my comp dollars to eat at the short order grill down there. Also if you play for 8 hrs straight you get a room discount.

I was told by someone working in the borgata poker room that all tables get 2 dollars and hour in comps which makes sense considering that there is a max rake so the tables should pretty much all make the same amount of money

Yes, If you are going to play at any casino reguarily, it is worth getting a player's card and using it whenever you play, no matter what the comp rate is.

At my local casino, I only get comped $1/hr no matter what limit poker I am playing, but even that is better than nothing at all. I mainly use it just for free drinks/food while i'm waiting for a table. But others could save up for hotel rooms, etc...

[/ QUOTE ] I'm pretty darn sure this isn't true (the ammount in my comp account would be much higher). He was probably talking about tables with a seat charge, 10/20 and up, where IIRC $2/hr is the rate.

Comps playing poker in AC build up slowly, but are still worth getting anyway. Get a comp card immediately before you even sit down once. The best comp in AC (when I used to play there) was the noodle bar at the taj. $5 and damn friggin' good. The noodle bar is in the asian/paigow area. During real busy times, poker comps were not allowed at the noodle bar, as it was reserved for the higher limit table game players.

I know nothing of the borgata's comps or restaurants.

the trop has some low comp rate as well that you can use on sandwiches etc.

is the noodle soup at the taj better than the all night one in ballys? the one in the claridge is not very good. Should I have started a noodle soup thread?

Default noodles

bally's had no cardroom (that I was aware of) when I was there so I never went to bally's. The noodle bar at the taj was absolutely terrific tho, I often met people there to talk, cus discuss etc.

Looking for one that lives up to the noodle bar at taj that is in vegas, anyone know?

Can't the Borgata's comps be used towards gifts/apparel?

The Trop comps $.50 per hour (or is it half hour?) at the lower limits.
