Default Totally clueless satalite play

I haven't played in many online satalites and none recently. But today I took a shot at a seat for Stars Sunday 215 NL.

8 people got seats and 9th place got $8 so you didn't really want 9th Anyway at the final table the short stack has 1200 and 2 others have about 3K and the others would appear to be in the safe zone. Anyway this situation comes up. All folded to the short stack of 1200 who goes all in on the button. SB with 15K in chips and BB with 9K in chips both fold! I couldn't frikken believe it! How can you fold anything in this situation with these stacks!

There were many other dubious plays like big stacks contesting each other with the small stacks watching and hoping. I was just folding everything unless I could get into a good situation with a stack I could take out. But these guys didn't seem to understand that the goal was simply to knock one more guy out.

You really have to watch trying to knock someone out... you can slowly wear down your stack doing it. Only in a good situation would I do it... where a smaller stack went in and I had a Group 1 hand.

Otherwise, I'd be folding also as a bigger stack.

You didn't mention what the blinds are. If the blinds are 300/600 or something, then the BB at least should call with any two. But less than that, folding poor hands is reasonable.

Nothing can possibly beat the completely brain-dead play I made in a single table satellite yesterday.

I have QJo and see the flop 5 way. Flop is K-Q-T rainbow. I bet to steal the pot and get 2 callers. Turn is a blank and checked around. At this point a huge family argument breaks out in the next room totally disturbing my serenity. I vaguely note that the river gives me 2 pair. Barely looking at the board I push in and get 2 callers.

Yes, you heard it right. I bet the rest of my chips with 2 pair into a 4-card broadway that was missing the A.

The most idiotic play I've ever witnessed and I did it. To make matters worse, there was another 2+2'er at the table.

Never, ever, play when there are personal matters distracting or troubling you.

I have shamed the House of Mogh.
