All out poker career!
I'm not looking to go pro, but I'm turning 21 tomorrow and I'm looking to set aside my bankroll. I'm planning on playing between 3/6 and 5/10. What should my bankroll start out at?

Re: All out poker career!
300 BB or big bets is standard so, 1,800 for 3/6, 3,000 for 5/10. GL.

Re: All out poker career!
You looking to go pro but you dont know how big your bankroll should be?
Hmmm good luck? 300BB - But if your going pro id want a cushion of 500BB... If you hit a downswing and this is where your cash in coming from i think you need "Spare" cash. |

Re: All out poker career!
It should start out at $20, that's 500BB at .02/.04.

Re: All out poker career!
What kind of poker experience do you have? Are you talking about playing online or B&M?
As stated, the "standard" bankroll is 300 big bets for the highest level you intend to play; most people like to have a bit more than that to be on the safe side. However, this assumes that you are a winning player--if you aren't, then there is no such thing as a big enough bankroll. With this in mind, then unless you're one of those rich kids with a huge trust fund somewhere, I'd recommend starting at a lower limit as you gain more experience in the game. At least if you're talking about playing online, 3/6 & 5/10 are far from cakewalks. |
