Default First Hour Limit, NL After that

What point does this have in a tournament? Starting with limit and blinds every 20 min, to No limit after that?

I think this turns it into more of a crapshoot. If you don't get cards in that time, your pretty much done.

it's supposed to give it more play (i.e. limit tournies make it hard to bust in the first hour)

Yeah, Spirit Mt. (Oregon) used to have these a few years back before NL really took off. I kind of liked the format.

the first tournament i ever played was limit until the final table. They then took away the tournament chips and gave everyone $100 in $5 chips. You could only leave the table if you were the shortest stack at the table. They then played $5/$5 NL.
Very strange tournament.

Yes, once at Mandalay Bay and once at Luxor. Got 2nd in the Mandalay tourney, but they're all crapshoots.
