When I've worked hourly jobs, every week. Salaried, one was every other thursday, the other was the 1st and 15th of each month.

I'm contract, but paid hourly. I get paid every wednesday at approximately 10 am because I submit my call sheets on tuesday afternoon.

Poor people get paid every week.
Middle class people get paid bi-monthly. The upper crust get a check every month. Weekly and bi-monthly people don't feel bad for the lower 1% of the upper crust.
