I used to buy and sell constantly on ebay. I understand the marketplace a lot more than most people do.

1)NEVER start an auction for an outrageous amount. It's better to start it off at a penny and let the auction take off for itself. If it is such a brilliant idea, it will take off by itself.

2)He's trying to get free publicity from this auction AND make some money. It's obvious he wants both. With an auction starting off at a high price like that, it MIGHT only peak the interest of a small handful of people if it even does (and I'm doubting anyone will bid on it for real). There won't be any publicity from that.

Like I said before with the forehead auction, the thing took off because not only was it unique, it was attainable by anyone. Some mom and pop business was the one that ended up winning the auction... not some billionaire. What would starting this auction lower do harm? You telling me if there's a bidding war and he only gets $50,000 that he's going to turn it down?

To me, all this guy did was just waste $10 listing this auction.

Just out of curiousity, what's preventing any company from just hiring their own guy to go put on a pink bunny suit and play in a card room for a month for like 10 bucks an hour plus expenses? It's a great idea, and would be a great promotion, but I don't think TPB has the rights to that idea. What would make him so much better than any other guy in a bunny suit. And even if he was a much better promoter than your average promo guy hired buy a company, is he really worth another $100-150K?

That's what I'm saying!!! MUCH CHEAPER!

Maybe I should put up a similar ebay auction where I will dress up in a cat suit and meow at the table.

Meow.

While this is true when selling a commodity such as bubble wrap, laptops or Chef knives. I think you are wrong when it comes to unique items. Selling on eBay is a contract. Perhaps he is not willing to sit in the suit for 8 hours a day fora month for $3,354 dollars. I do agree that he should have started it lower though, perhaps his minimum would be $10,000.

BTW, What happens when the casinos kick him out?

Why would a cat need to dress up in a cat suit?

What's preventing any company from getting their logo painted on a thousand pregnant women?
I'm assuming that lady that I saw on CNN did it for more than just $100.
Maybe only $1k-$2k for all I know though.

I still don't know about the forehead thing that Iggy refers to. I guess someone sold the space on their forehead.

I think this guy might be able to do it for $50k....but I don't know.
Start big, dream big.

I certainly don't think it's a waste of $10 (or however much it costs to place the ad) because there is still a reasonable chance it gets sold for a lower price and everyone wins.

Why would a cat need to dress up in a cat suit?

It makes them look more presentable.
