Betting Big on the turn
Was I too aggressive with this hand or is this just a stupid beat? I bet big so that the villain thinks I am bluffing. Is it a bad idea to get all the money in on the turn? I thought the villain had AK, but not sure how he called with a 9 kicker.

Re: Betting Big on the turn
the turn bet is very player dependent.
but also usually you're not going to get called on the turn anyways unless he has a K, so maybe a big bet is a good idea. a lot of the time he'll fold, but he'll usually fold non trips hands anyways unless he's the type to get testy with his pocket pairs, where you could probably value bet and "milk" him for a bit more rather than getting him to fold. so to summarize: it depends. |

Re: Betting Big on the turn
I think you played it perfectly -
you got him to put all of his money in the middle drawing to 7 outs. Unfortunately, he got lucky. |

Re: Betting Big on the turn
That does suck but it looks perfectly fine to me. only two hands can beat you I think the lost EV for letting weak kings get away (players who will fold trip kings will also be careful on the river so you wont get a lot extra there) is more than made up for by the times you get someone getting stubborn with trips/a PP.
