Default Time for the drug companies to move to Galt\'s Gultch

From front page of todays wall street journal.

"...the jury in effect dispensed with the science and started a series of 10-2 votes against Merck that would end in a $253 million verdict against the drug maker.....Interviews with jurors suggest that many tuned out Merck's arguments and focused instead on evidence they understood...Jurors who voted against Merck said much of the science sailed right over their heads. Whenever Merck was up there, it was like wah, wah, wah, said juror John Ostrom imitating the sounds Charlie Brown's teacher makes.."

This country is in a lot of trouble. Dupont has already stopped work on drugs to save people and shifted to safe pain killer type drugs. Very very sad.

Merck deserved it. Their Cox 2 inhibitors, vioxx, were no better than asprine for those that did not have a cox 2 problem, yet Merck sold it to everyone. It is clear that people accepted an increased risk, with no hope of a superior result, and Merck knew this. I hope Merck goes bust.

Dupont has already stopped work on drugs - to concetrate on their core competency, basic materials.

What you are seeing is a changing of the guard. The future is not bogus non cures like what merck peddles, it is Amgen ect.
