Default Playing big overcards when you miss flop

The Hand on pokerhand.org

On the flop, I was betting to either buy it or have him raise me in which case I'd fold.

I didn't really have any reads on this player, but figure he called my bet with pockets, Ax, or any two face cards. This is why I thought I cought throw him off on the flop, and if not I hoped to be ahead on the turn if an overcard fell.

If I missed the turn and he checked to me, what reasons would I have to bet or not to bet?
