Default Fantasy Baseball help!

Brian Giles is in my outfield and in a HUGE slump. He's hitting .175, including an 0 for 5 game last night. Dump or hang on for awhile? He's a career .296 hitter.

I certainly would Not drop him at all. Brian Giles has been one of the most consistant players the last 5 years. He will come around. Im sure those damn yankee fans can tell you its still early in the season.

I'd hold on for a little while. He's too good to just drop and you probably can't get anything worthwhile back for him in a trade right now.

i haven't really looked at his numbers, but in the off season someone offered him to me in a trade and he seemed to give every indication of a decline, so i passed. personally, i'd talk up tonight's 4-5 and get what i could for him. there's no way he returns to the pgh numbers, and i think you're looking at a ceiling of .280/25hr/85rbi, and that's if he gets hot. otherwise, i'd say, .255/17/75

You forgot to mention what kind of league you're in and the type of scoring. That is like not mentioning stack sizes in a PL Omaha post.

My bad. Traditional 5x5 league.

Depending on how many teams are in your league, you might be able to pick up a hot player and bench Giles until his numbers even out. In my league, Cliff Floyd was on the bench until I picked him up last week. If there's someone like this available, grab him. No sense in damaging your numbers waiting for Giles to get back to his old self.

Hopefully you had Giles in last night for his 4-5 HR and 5 RBI night last night. He now has 4 HR's 16 runs and 14 RBI's. Atleast he isnt hurting you in those categories. Baseball is a game of streaks. He might just be on the start of his first hot streak of the year.
