Default Could anyone get away from this hand?

I need to know if there is someone out there that could have folded this hand. I can't remember all of the details, but this occurred two nights ago in a NL MTT. I was in around 20th place, with approx 125 remaining. The cutoff for cash was 36.

I'm holding 8-9h in mid position. BB is somewhere around $100.

Two people in EP call, I call, cut calls, button raises to approx $300, both blinds fold. All callers, including me call.

Flop is 10h, Jh, Kh.
Check to me, I bet small, hoping to make someone think I'm on a draw, around $600. UTG+2 calls and button calls.

Turn is off suit rag, 4c I think.

UTG checks again. I bet $1000. Button folds, UTG+2 calls.

River, As, I like that.

UTG+2 bets $1000, I raise to $3000 hoping for a call. He goes all-in for around $5k more. I have him covered and call. He turns over Ah-Qh. Flopped a royal.

Should I have seen this coming, or is this just one of those things that occur in poker?

mmmmm, i'm going with "just one of those things"

i'm not being sarcastic. pretty impossible to get away from that hand unless you had a "super rock" read on the villain, and even then I'd most likely still get sucked in.

No joke dude. I'd just like to knwo if anyone can tell me if there's any way to avoid going broke on this hand, because I don't have enough experience to decide if I should have picked up on something, or if it's just one of those things that is going to happen.

It depends on stakes and reads, but this is almost too simple to get away from. He just check/calls the entire way, looks like on a draw or slowplayed monster. a single Q is semi afraid of the flsuh and wont go allin. He is either pure bluffing or has an Ace high flush.

Short answer: no
Long answer: noooooooooooooooooooooooo

Though, I'd be really suspicious after he 3-bets the river all in, I'd definetly call anyway.
