Ha! Yeah I think I should have bet the turn here. I just finished reading that page too when you posted.

I basically like this play. I wouldn't consider the flop raise as being solely a free card play, since you got enough callers to make it for value. In that position, it's often tough to turn it into a free card on the turn, anyway. On the turn, with four other people in the pot, no real resistence against you and a pair, I think you could bet the turn for value, too, since your ace and 6 are also both probably clean outs (even if they weren't, I think it would still be marginally a value bet if everyone called).

I've generally stopped even thinking about a flop raise with a 4-flush as being a play for a free card. If I get it, I get it, but if I can get at least 3 callers for the bet, it's a bet or raise for significant value and guarantees correct odds to draw on the turn. Even two callers is +EV.

What's the BIG difference between a FREE card and a card that costs 5 cents? Do you clip coupons too?

For people who have BRs to play at .05/.10 it matters, as this is one hand but this situation comes out in many hands.

I say, good flop raise, you can bet the turn
