Default Butchered AA hand?

Poker Room Omaha Hi/Low $0.50-$0.50 PL

Blind1 ($77.75 in chips)
Blind2 ($87.50 in chips)
UTG: hero [6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img],A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img],A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]] ($44.25 in chips)
UTG+1 ($49 in chips)
UTG+2 ($62.25 in chips)
MP1 ($15.75 in chips)
MP2 ($12.75 in chips)
MP3 ($99.75 in chips)
CO ($50.75 in chips)
Button ($5.50 in chips)

ANTES/BLINDS
Blind1 posts blind ($0.50), Blind2 posts blind ($0.50).

PRE-FLOP
hero calls $0.50, UTG+1 calls $0.50, 2 folds, MP2 calls $0.50, MP3 folds, CO bets $2, Button bets $5.50 and is all-in, Blinds fold, hero bets $20, UTG+1 folds, MP2 calls $12.25 and is all-in, CO calls $18.50.

Main Pot, $23.50; Side Pot 1 $21.75; Side Pot 2 $15.50

FLOP [board cards 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ]
hero ($23.75 stack) checks, CO ($30.25 stack) checks.

TURN [ 3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ]
hero checks, CO bets $30.25 and is all-in, hero folds.

Results in white.

Questions:

1) Should I have folded to the raise and reraise preflop? My thinking was that by coming over the top, I get it heads up with the short stack, but I don't mind calls either, as I'm hoping for the high half while 2 others go low. I don't know if that is something I a) should want b) is realistic to expect even if I want it

2) on the flop I got scared. I wanted to give myself a chance to get away from the hand instead of just firing all of the chips in. Probably bad, right?

3) On the turn I realize a check gives him a license to knock me out and at least nab the side pot. But there's two clubs, two diamonds, 3-5-6 for a str8, the low in this mega-raised pot means half the pot is mine max even if I'm good, and my aces have shriveled up, as Mr. Sexton likes to say.

Where did I go wrong? If it's pre-flop, is there any way I could have played this better once I put myself in the position I did for the flop? Or is this just simply a case of bad cards coming on the flop and turn?

Edits for odds in results after previous comments.

<font color="white">RIVER [board cards KH ]

SHOWDOWN
CO shows [ 2C,QH,AC,10H ] low 6532A, high QQAK6
Button shows [ 3S,AH,7H,5D ] low 7653A, high 5533K
MP2 shows [ JD,10D,8S,8H ] no low, high 88KQ6
CO wins high $45, CO wins low $10.25, CO wins high $10.50, CO wins low $11.25, Button wins high $11.25.

WOW, I was a huge dog preflop. I had just .148, CO had .356, MP2 .255, and button .241. Talk about being the sucker. ATE may be onto something with AArr (rag-rag) against multiple opponents . . .

Flop made it much worse. Now I'm .080 for the main pot. CO moves to .429, button to .214 and MP2 to .277.

But I'm .476 vs. the CO heads up at this point. Turn of course knocks me to .062 overall and .344 against CO (he's locked low and free rolling 35% for high vs. me).

At least my post-flop instincts of smelling trouble were on . . . it is interesting to see the equity stats IMO.

SUMMARY
Dealer: Button
Pot: $91, (including rake: $2.75)
Blind1, loses $0.50
Blind2, loses $0.50
hero, loses $20.50
UTG+1, loses $0.50
UTG+2, loses $0
MP1, loses $0
MP2, loses $12.75
MP3, loses $0
CO, bets $50.75, collects $77, net $26.25
Button, bets $5.50, collects $11.25, net $5.75</font>

I would have folded preflop. You do not have a decent low. AA alone is not a good hand in high low.

1) In a heart beat. I have no problem with the initial call (others will), but as soon as there is any significant action it means at least one of your key cards is probably dead and you only really have a 2 card hand. Also, with a player all-in, your ability to push everyone else off the pot has disappeared. Give up the $2.

2)You gambled to see a flop.....which missed. At best you are going to chop the final side pot. Anyone who can call your pre-flop raise is going to play here. I believe your check was 100% correct. In any case, the CO may interpret it as another A2.

3)100% correct

This is gonna sound insane but this is one of those situations where you should probably fold A/A preflop. It sounds crazy, however heres when you have to do this. You have A/A/X/X and the X/X are the cards 5-10 and you have no flush draw whatsoever and 4 players have shown that they will call any amount to take a flop. In this case it was clear 4 or more players were going to take a flop, you had a horrible A/A you were not gonna catch anything to help it. Your other aces are obviously out. Clear preflop fold.

I play this the same, except I push on the flop instead of checking.

I'd do what wintermute said, although if I somehow magically knew that MP2 and CO were coming along, I would fold preflop. A bad AAxx hand is no good against many opponents since it becomes unlikely the AA will hold up and the other A's are probably already dead.
