Ugh. You're up against AA or JJ most of the time here.

On the other hand, I see a lot of crazy stuff in that game. Since he's basically unknown, I'd be inclined to call it down. With a stronger read of him as a reasonable player, I'd fold.

I doubt i would fold this, depending on the player i have seen flush draws capped on every street in that game, against a known TAG you will be shown AA,JJ alot but i would like to take it to show down

You must call down this heads up pot if you do not have good reads. Pot is too big to fold. Overpair is very strong hand heads up. Folding here is really weak play. You also have 2 outs to improve to 2nd nuts.

You are probably behind AA and JJ, but you can beat i.e. QQ and AK [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and tie KK.

In big heads up pots you usually should go to showdown when you have hand with showdown value.

I call, and check-call the river. It looks like he was worried you wouldn't lead the turn if he capped the flop, which makes me think he's not concerned about getting any hand to fold. That's bad, but you can still beat a strangely played QQ or the unlikely KK.

Call. Check-call river. You'll see QQ, AJ, or a pure bluff often enough to make this worthwhile. If for nothing else, you don't let your opponents know that you'll fold after showing so much strength, so that they won't play back at you so strong with draws later.

So standard here would be to call down? I wasn't folding, just debating a 3-bet.

What if the flop is something like 8 high? Then we are definatly 3 betting?

This could mean to many different things to fold here.

My first thought was that the villian could very well be raising with the intention of not putting another dime into the pot. Depending on how aggressive he is Pre-flop AA-99 are all possibilities.

A look at post Flop aggression should clarify his hand range further. At this point I am calling down. Because I look at it like this:

Hands that have us beat:
AA 6-combinations
JJ 3-Cominbations

Hands with 7 outs:
99- (6) combinations
TT- (6) combinations

Tie:

KK 1-combination

Hands we beat and are Dead:

QQ- 6-combinations

At this point I am ready to severly discount AK. AQs might be a possibility, but the turn seems a bit weird for that.

Why in the world would anyone dream of folding here?

I would three bet if the board was 7 or 8 high. Maybe 9 high.
