Default Easy fold, or easy push?

Live MTT with re-buys and add-ons (home game). Rebuy/add-ons have been done for a while. 9 left. We're in the 'money,' so to speak, but the only real money is in the top three spots.

My read on the villain is that he's loose, loose, loose. I've played with him in a few other tournaments before, and his pre-flop hand selection is very questionable. Outside of that, his post-flop play is decent.

Hand from memory:
Blinds at 200/400
Hero is BB and dealt (Qs, Qd)

UTG calls 400
3 folds
Villain (12,500) calls 400
1 fold
Button calls 400
SB folds
Hero (6,700) raises 1,600 to 2,000
Villain calls, everyone else folds

FLOP: Kh, 5h, 7s

Villain bets 2,500
Hero????

Either something is wrong here, or Villain just bet out of turn.

Anyways, push PREFLOP in this situation.

A) I checked on the flop first. Bad move? My bad for not writing that on my first post. Sorry.

b) You think pushing 6,700 into a pot of about 1,800 here pre-flop is the right move? I had considered it, and maybe I could've taken it down right there, but at the time, it seemed like a total overbet given the stacks in question.

Just curious ... hoping for other feedback.

Yes, pretty bad. You are asking for a very tough decision by signaling that you missed the flop completely.

It would be better than underbetting it, as I think you did.
