Then the turn is a 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and river is the A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

I was shooting a TV story with some local pros when I put this one on of them.

I had A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]...flop came 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
He was short stacked, I pushed him all in, he called.
Showed 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

Turn: 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
River: 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

That's result-oriented thinking. If you have top pair and your opp. is minded to fold, don't you think you have the advantage? If he says fold and then a few seconds later says wait, can I change my mind, you make a read. If you think he's not angling, then it's +EV to let him put more money in as a dog.

However, that kind of beat when it's against me is less upsetting what the OP wrote about. If your opp goes all in with trip 5s, you can't really fault him, you'd have done the same thing, so if you lose you lose. It's when the Poker Gods reward a really stupid play that's frustrating.

Limit, probably. NL, getting knocked out once may not make you as happy about getting +EV calls

You got a guy all in in a situation where you are ~78% to win. Good job, and do NOT complain about a hand like that in future.
I guarantee you that many many other players here have seen much worse than that.

i had one much worse today... had a set of 5s against somebody who called my all-in with top pair jacks, 9 kicker (complete fish) he turned and rivered two nines to take it down with a higher boat. to OP... you're a [censored].

I check he bets I push all in for 1 billion dollars cash and he calls and turns over A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Turn brings A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] but I'm not worried

River brings the last A, the mystical 2nd A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and I lose with my royal flush to 5 of a kind. I MEAN WTF IS THAT

Now I'm broke [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]
