Default Trapping overaggressive BB

NL600 6-max

Villain has about 700, I cover. Villain is very LAG, shows flashes of brilliance but overplays hands and doesn't know when to fold. I have attempted to limp in from the SB 5 or 6 times when folded to me and everytime he has made it 25 or 30 and taken my blind. Given that, I'm just looking for some feedback on this play...

Folded to me in the SB, I limp with AA, villain makes it 35, I make it 175, he calls.

Flop 7 4 8 rainbow, I lead for 300. Like it or hate it?

looks good. everytime i limp-re-raise from SB v. hyper-aggro BB, they think im 'finally making a stand' and 'pulling a move' on them.

although, your reraise seems a bit big. however, once it's that big, you're getting all-in very soon anyways.

Yeah, it was that big for the reason you listed (making a stand). Plus villain gets married to hands and I think folding goes against his ego.

the last time i did this was in 500 NL (prima, weird limits), and villain still managed to get all-in with 200 BBs with JT on a J-high flop

they just dont believe you

but this only works (from experience) v. very aggressive opponents

Nice. Especially if he's one of those guys who auto-raises 80% of his hands if you just complete the SB.

I don't mind checking flop or underbetting flop.

Preflop raise is soooooo nice. Love it. Did you do it thinking that villain will re-raise all in?

Think you should lead for 1/3-1/2 pot on the flop though, like a continuation bet. Then hope villain pushes with king high.

I would've bet $175 on flop hoping he would come over the top.
