Working on a regular at 25-50 - meta-metagame considerations
The site that I play on has a number of regulars that "specialize" in high-limit HU play. I have been having quite a bit of success with one of them in a 25-50 game over about six sessions. I feel like I have a good read on this player and can beat him consistently. I also have been running well which I think has been a little frustrating for him.
He has refused to play the last couple of times that I have sat with him. It seems to me like I have a few options: 1) Force the action. Chase him around and make his life miserable by sitting with him at every opportunity. I don't like this option much because the game may dry up and blow away. 2) Wait a week or two and see if he wants to play again. 3) Change my username and play him now. Has anyone had any experience with this sort of situation? |

I think this is a pretty stupid post, but the last one is so obviously correct.

changing the username seems like the one that is most likely to work. Following him around and being a pain in the ass isn't going to get him to play you, it's likely to run him off. change your name until he quits letting you play him under the second name, then wait a while is what I would do.
