Blind on Blind 5/10
This was just awkward, and badly played.
Villain is LP after 50 hands, if that means anything. 5/10 9 handed. Folded to me in the SB and I have A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I raise. BB calls 4 SB Flop comes: J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] I bet, he raises, I call. 4 BB Turn comes:J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I chk, he bets, I call. 6BB River: J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I check, he bets, I fold. Comments on every street appreciated. I'm thinking I need to 3bet the flop or raise the turn or do something in there to win the hand... |

Re: Blind on Blind 5/10
Against a nomral person I'm 3 betting the flop and betting the turn, against a LPP he has a pair so I'd only 3 bet the flop if I thought it'd gain me a free card, or he'd raise the flop with low pair.

Re: Blind on Blind 5/10
Does he have the pot equity to 3bet?

3-betting OOP sucks IMHO

Re: Blind on Blind 5/10
I don't see the point in 3-betting. A Loose Passive usually only raises this flop with a pair. (Unless he's changed up for HU play) I think this hand is fine.

Re: Blind on Blind 5/10
I'd say you either need to fold to his raise or 3-bet if you thik you sufficient reason to believe he'd semi-bluff raise you here and often.
That call says "walk on me" all over it. Plus it made your initial raise look more like an attempt to steal the blind than representing good cards. Now you are on the defense. I would've folded to his raise, not enough money to chase the flush or hope to pick up an A. I'd place him as betting on the jack. As a TAA, he may be defending his blind on the flop as opposed to PF to throw you off. |

Re: Blind on Blind 5/10
He was described as tight, i'll play against him as tight. Not many semi-bluffs, not many bluffs, perhaps defends his blinds too much? I mean, even at 5/10, people who are giving this much action usually arent BS'ing especially if they are tight and aggressive.
so you 3 bet the flop, what do you do if he caps it? like i said, if i didnt fold to his reraise, i would 3-bet and lead on the turn. if anything i was more critical of the call and then the check/call. but i'd rather give him this pot and take another where i really have him between a rock and a hard place, no? you think that sets up too passive of an image? is this not the same principal behind going for a semi-bluff raise and being met with aggression and so folding right there? or am i confusing two way separate situations? Im thinking of some passage in TOP and im sure somehwere in HEPFAP. i'd give a page #, but i dont have it in front of me here (read: im too lazy to go find it). why do you think more aggression, because i could damn well be wrong. EDIT: ok, im a moron. he is LP, not TAG, go all in. sorry about this screw up here, but if he's passive, why's he raising the flop? |

Re: Blind on Blind 5/10
Are you serious? Fold the flop getting 7:1 with 10, 12, even 15 outs?
