Default How far do I push AQs preflop here?

Middle rounds of PS $45k guaranteed tourney. Avg stack is about 15,000. Villain is 29/4.5/0.63 after 45 hands. He's decent, although he has made some so-so calls.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (9 handed) converter

CO (t34882)
Button (t13725)
SB (t29365)
Hero (t18523)
UTG (t14530)
UTG+1 (t8065)
MP1 (t15955)
MP2 (t12970)
MP3 (t9008)

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, MP2 calls t400, MP3 calls t400, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, SB completes, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to t2000</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 raises to t3625</font>, MP3 folds, SB folds, <font color="#CC3333">Hero ???

I can't see myself doing anything but calling here, especially with your stack. Folding is clearly out of the question, and raising I think is going to cause a push, which I don't feel is neccessary with your stack, and AQs. Just call and play it out from there, if you don't hit, and he makes it expensive, lay it down.

edit: Just to add. You've shown strength by raising (though I think 5x is a bit much, but I doubt villian thinks you're stealing or something). There's really no reason to raise. Also, notice his strange bet, its a wierd number. This is often a tell of a strong hand. Just keep that in mind.

I'm with Dave, flat call is the only option. Then see what the texture of the flop is.

I assume you are referring to the initial raise to 2000t? If so, why is that? Thanks.

I'm sure that's what he meant. I'd also just check and look at the flop. You have a well-disguised hand. But now that you have the small raise to deal with, which you have to call because of the odds, you're playing this out of position. And on many flops, you won't know where you stand.

one of those hands that you hate a reraise, or even a call, here. especially given the stacks.

Also, if you get reraised a large amount you have to fold. And by doing so, you essentialy turn your AQs into a rag hand.

I'm sort of confused on his raise.

You raise to 2000 he re raises to 3625? Is this right? So he min raised plus 25? This is sort of odd. You've got position and fairly deep stacks, I probably call and look to flop big, don't get married to top pair here though. And don't try to chase after the pot with an ill advised bluff here. I'd be willing to guess Villian's holdings are pretty strong, but he's asking you to flop huge and bust him, so please do.

Hope it worked out.
