Default Moronic bad \"beats\"

Bad beat, Bad beat… What'cha gonna do?

What'cha gonna do when they come for you?

You didn't like the look of those spades

And now you are getting yourself raised

You've had the best hand all day

But still you are losing your stake… hey hey

Bad beat, Bad beat, what'cha gonna do?

What'cha gonna do when they come for you?

Bad beat, Bad beat, what'cha gonna do?

What'cha gonna do when they come for you?

You got yourself a pair of those kings

but then you saw the flop had an ace

and then you got a pair of those Ace

but lost it all again to trey treys… hey hey

what'cha gonna do when they come for you…

Seriously though... Since this post was supposed to be about bad beats, so here's a favorite one that happenend in my favorite cardroom. I was not involved, but the guy who lost the pot is a jerk, so I took secret delight in seeing this happen...

Jerk raises on the button after several limp. BB calls. Multiway pot. Flop is 3 K J with two spades. Jerk bets, BB calls, Jerk gets check-raised by another player, jerk reraises, BB cold calls, check-raiser caps, 3 way action. Turn is 5d. Checked to the jerk who bets, BB check-raises, capper calls, jerk reraises, both call. River is a four, no flush possible. BB bets and jerk raises, BB calls. BB wins with pocket fours. Jerk had pocket threes. Capper said he had spades. BB stayed all the way, and even check-raised the turn, with two outs. Gotta love it.

I never let this happen anymore. Used to but not anymore. Call it superstition or whatever but it seems that whenever I take delight in someone else losing it comes back to haunt me. I don't do it anymore. I play poker to win money not to feed some egoistic need to see pain inflicted on some opponent. I don't let my personal feelings about anyone at the table influence me in any way. Friend or foe tis all the same to me. That re- rhymes me:

"Bad Beat, Bad Beat what'cha gonna do?

What'cha gonna do when they come for you?

Bad Beat, Bad Beat who ya gonna screw?

Who ya gonna screw if I'm a jerkoff too"

Dave in Cali- Love your cute bad beat song, but I agree with Vince... when you're beat it's just best to shine it and move to the next hand. I think it's bad "card-ma" to fantasize about the destruction of your opponent. Remember... be careful what you wish for.... And... what jerks around comes around....
