I don't like leading the flop because we don't really find out where we are in this hand if villain plays passively.

What line do you propose that will give you more information? Check-raise with two overs on board? That sounds like classic spewing.

default play would be to bet the pot. I'm not sure what I'd do againt a raise though...I'm afraid to say but it may be correct to fold to a raise on the river, against most sane players at least.

If OP leads the river with a pot-sized bet and gets popped, I think he has to call. I don't know how Villain has enough information to isolate OP to JJ or A with a paired kicker; if that's right, then Villain's raising range includes hands like AK and AT that are simply trips, fair kicker. If that's true, then a call is warranted on the river.

If OP checks the river and Villain leads small (half the pot or under), a c/r tripling the bet seems OK to me: Villain probably has to call with any A. If he responds by pushing, he expects to get called and OP may have to muck it. That's a tough laydown with with something like the seventh nuts; I'm not sure I'm capable of that HU without a really good read on Villain.

My inclination would be to lead the river and call any raise.
