I like a turn check and then call whatever he bluffs on the river.

I like this too, but does it bother you to give the free card to such a draw heavy board?

Edit: You explained and I tend to agree with you, but this is so close. I think our read on villain nudges us towards the turn check and river call.

I don't value bet this river, but I'm weak.

Checking the river does the following:

a) Gives a free card to a loose and aggressive opponent on a very draw heavy board.

b) Makes us look weak, which would be alright if we had a super strong hand, but we only have an overpair. I am not comfortable with trying to snap off a bluff when an opponent could have so many scare cards to bluff.

He doesn't have to have a draw, but it's more likely than much else given his image, isn't it? There are 20 cards on the river I do not want to see. If the river was a [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and opponent jammed, I think OP would be giving us a very different story here.

I'd rather bet turn and check river.

Pre-flop anf flop look good to me. Check behind on the turn and then call pot sized bet on the river.

Any logic behind this naked thought?

I think his range is wider than whatever hands we can beat.

He does this is busted draws, but he also does it with hands that beat us.

I'm not betting the turn for value. I'm betting it to protect a vulnerable hand, to charge against villian's (in my eyes at the time) most likely hand, some sort of draw. Divide all the dollar amounts in the hand by 10 if that'll help. Because the turn bet here is pretty manditory, IMO.

My immediate read is that the guy is just tagging along because the pot is big , and the moment you show weakness he will go all in to "big bet" you out of the pot.
A more careful second look and we see him letting you keep the lead because your bets are healthy, but on the river he's not about to let you check thus avoiding that last bet. He also has more information about your hand, your preflop raise suggesting a big pair, than you do about his.
Also that second 9 bothers me.
IMO its a fold.
