Based on your read, I think your kings are good here. He might have gotten lucky and caught trip 9s, but the wild players seem to like to check raise that on the turn. I hate to do it, but I think I have to call the river here.

Well, the guy ended up having.....Ace King?!?

And my Kings were good against his Ace high. I thought I was going to lose this hand more times than I won it vs. J8/QQ or a slow played T9/TT. This win was nice. A few minutes before this on another table, I got my $250 stack in the middle with AA preflop, they held up vs KK and it was a nice $500 1/2 hour of poker I played so far today. Fishtank was going a little nuts there for a few minutes. I think I'm gonna run to Subway and celebrate.

So my paranoid guess was WAY wrong....but I guess thats why you make calls you don't always like, right?

I like a turn check and then call whatever he bluffs on the river.

[/ QUOTE ]

I don't. Board is way too draw heavy and that weak lead is indicative of a draw. I'm betting turn and calling river expecting QJo and busted diamonds.

Everyone that doesn't like checking the turn,

He doesn't have to have a draw. And if you do check the turn, you will let him bluff so many holdings on the river that it makes up for any value you lose by not extracting from the draw on the turn.

As it is, villian was laggier and donkier than we realized and it didn't matter.
