Default Badugi not allowed in vegas - why??

On the Cardplayer.com video coverage interview with Raymer playing a cash game with Forrest, Phan and others, he said they were playing a 300/600 mixed game: Triple Draw 2-7, Omaha H/L, Stud H/L 8 or better, and "4 card triple draw rainbow" because Badugi is not allowed in Vegas so they call it that. Why is it not allowed - curious...

What is Badugi? Some crazy home game variant? I'm not picking up on the rainbow reference in conjunction with this 4-card game- are you drawing to 5? Do flushes and straights not count?

They actually played this on a high limit Live at the Bike broadcast with John Hennigan playing (he destroyed the table by the way) It goes something like this... dealt 4 cards (I already may be wrong!!), you draw with betting rounds in between, and very simply the lowest hand with 4 different suits wins. If there are no hands with 4 different suits, the best 3 card combo wins. Ac2dJsKh would beat A23 rainbow. Something kinda like that. Gosh, now I think I know why it's not allowed in Vegas. It's too wacky. Apparently the swings are huge. Actually I think there was a post by Fossilman explaing the game somewhere on here.....

Its a 4 card triple draw lowball game except that the best hands must have 1 of each suit. So 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] beats A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Its a pretty popular varient actually. (maybe because you can play it with more people/table than traditional tripledraw?)

Default Badugi and Padooki are the same game?

Crazy stuff. Why would a casino allow this kind of crap?

They have a tough enough time getting dealers trained for the normal games
