Default Bad luck or do I have a serious leak?

No Limit .50/1.00 Pokerstars.
Hero Small Blind....second hand played of the session.
Villain Big Blind....first hand of his session.

Hero: Kd Qd
Folded around to hero: Raise to $4
Villain: Cold calls.

$8 in pot

Flop: A 6 J rainbow

Hero: Bet $4
Villain: Call

Turn: T (all suits now on the board)

Hero: Check
Villain: Bet $8
Hero: Raise $16
Villain: Reraise $32
Hero: Reraise all in.
Villain: Call

River: Ten

Hero turns over straight; Villain shows pocket 66 for the boat on the river.

Where did I go wrong on this?
My thinking is as follows:
Preflop: KQ suited is likely best hand, raise to take down the blinds. His cold call tells me likely Ax or pocket pair.
Flop: Bet half the pot to define my previous raise as AK or AQ...see if I can take down pot. His cold call tells me he has Ax or maybe a draw...possible slow play of trips or two pair.
Turn: My nut straight is hit. I check conveying to him my weak attempt at stealing the pot. I check raise conveying to him I have the straight if you want to do battle. His continued reraise tells me he may also have the straight, but certainly not a draw. My guess in this order is straight, two pair or trips.

Should I move this aggressively on the nut straight in a no limit game with one card to come? Is it me or was his play suspect....I don't think I'd call a check raise, reraise, all in with trips when the board is screaming nut str8?

Inputs are greatly appreciated.

I would say bad luck. I'm not an expert but I would of played it exactly the same way.

You got all your money in when you had the nuts which definitely means there is nothing wrong with your play.

He hit one of his outs on the river, so thats just unlucky for you. More often than not you will take down this pot.

Dont get hung up on hands like these. There was not much more you could have done, because theres no way he's going to lay down his set.

if you want to take it down on the flop you have to bet more.
everything else looks fine.

I'd have led the turn and hope to catch him with some AJ/AT type hand. and if I check/raised I'd have check/raised more than that. Problem with check/raising is he checks behind with a weak ace and you just sacrificed one street where you could have been building the pot.

Your continuity bet needs to be nearer to the size of the pot. Otherwise, unlucky.

I have no idea why you think you made a mistake here. You got all your money in w/ the best hand and got rivered. There's nothing you can do about that. I would have bet out on the turn...if he checks behind you, then you have missed an opportunity. Additionally, he called your flop bet so there is no reason to think that he won't call on the turn as well.
