AP wire:
Lake Tahoe, NV:

Needless to say, but I feel we should all learn from this event. I feel we should hijack this thread and bring up the question of gunshot equity when sucking out your trip ducks on the river.

When you are up and take some of your chips off the table to prevent ourself from losing it, sort of like partially cashing out, to reduce you risk. It's something only amateur players do, mostly when they think they are likely to lose because the table plays better than them.

I have done this several times (sometimes inadvertently, like when i put some cash into my pocket)...surely this is not a capital offense. This news story is very murky: who was the shooter? Who was the victim? Were they the same person? Was the dead guy shot by the cops? What instigated this whole thing?

Getting shot at the table is -EV.
Dying from it is very -EV.

Not necessarily,if he gets to keep his chips, then it is EV neutral. If he happened to be a losing player then it was very much +EV.

I'll add this to the myriad of reasons why I prefer playing online. The only way that I can die while playing online is if I spill beer onto my keyboard and electrocute myself.
