Lending cash to friends at a card room

I lent some cash to a "friend". over time he has run me up to 800 bucks, now i cant seem to find him, if i do see him he is always broke. how many of u guys have been in this kind of situation, and how did u guys resolve it? what ways do u guys have to get ur money back? thanx for replies
