Default LO8 6-max

Quick questions for ya'll. I'm moving up the limits on Stars, and there's infrequently a full 1/2 table going on. However, there are one, sometimes 2 1/2 6-max tables.

1. How much of a bankroll do you need for this limit? I assume the variance is higher.
2. Are you going to average a higher BB/100 much like Hold 'Em?
3. Should I just take my money to PartyPoker, and secondarily, do they have 1/2 games open frequently?

Thanks,
-Boolean

Boolean,

1) For thoughts on bankroll requirements, look at gergery's site under Stategy->Bankroll requirements in O8.
2) Depends. Get Poker Tracker for Omaha (link) and do some heavy data gathering, you'll know who the sharks and fish are. Then it's pretty much just table selection, hand discipline, and proper aggression. At full ring, I'm just under 2BB/hr. At 6-max I'm over 4. Roughly the same number of hands. Shorthanded, you'll play more hands, so variance should be higher, but the opposition at these levels is pretty weak, leading to a happier Boolean.
3) During peak hours, Party usually has 2 or 3 full ring games and 5+ 6-max tables at both the 1/2 and 2/4 levels.

Good luck

AP has pretty soft 1/2 games too. 2-3 going most times I play.
