Default Am I completely nuts?

I'm currently 18, a senior in HS. I've done very well playing poker, making a decent amount of money. However...I barely spend money, and when I do I don't look at what the "normal" senior male in HS would look at.

The last $1000 or so I've spent has been on a new glass desk, tv stand, mini fridge, and massaging chair. I have no desire to buy an xbox 360, CD's, or games.... I'm too busy looking at single cup coffee machines, smoothie makers, and hammocks. How gay does that sound?

I currently do not own a car, and really don't care to. I can drive my parents whenever necessary, and would rather not make payments. I love having no financial pressure. Eventually I plan on buying a car, maybe in the spring when I can hopefully drop 7k in cash and still feel comfortable bankroll wise.

In fact I have very little pressure in my life. I really have little drive. I come home from school around 12pm, sleep until around 6pm, buy myself some food, then play online from about 8pm-3am. Goto sleep til 6, wash rinse and repeat. Maybe this has something to do with my "want/need" mentality?

Basically....I'm asking if anyone has heard of anybody else like this, or if you just think I'm a weirdo with too much freedom.

I really don't spend that much. I was remodeling my room when I bought all the stuff listed. I'll go 3 months only buying food, then drop a grand (which isn't a terrible amount in proportion to winnings).

Maybe there isn't anything weird...just most the people I'm around daily would kill for the money I have at my age, while I don't think anything special of it.

I think you are better off than the average senior.

I am 19 years old, and a university sophomore. I spend carelessley spend my money on things I do not need. I desperately need a nicer desk, but instead buy DVDs and CDs. I pissed away what would be a large bankroll because my expenses are just so large and I am constantly having to pay off my credit card in the hundreds at least once a month.

I suggest saving some money and looking into investments for your future. I myself will take a plunge into the stock market in 5 or 6 months. I want to buy a car but saving up for it is too much of a hassle for me. I also would suggest finding you are passionate about before you go to any post-secondary institution. It is important to not end up in a program that you do not enjoy.

I, myself do not like the program I am in (Mechanical Engineering) and only chose it because the idiot counselors at my high school told me to go with whatever I am good at.

Your spending habits seem fine. Don't feel like you have to partake in the screwed up consumer culture the businesses are slinging.

What you might want to look for is some more socialization time. Seems like you're already in a rut - a profitable rut, but a rut just the same.

Sounds like a tough school. You studying welding or car repair? You have not mentioned a girlfried so I give you five years before you're sitting atop a clock tower with a 30-30 yelling at dogs and shooting squirells.

Get the Juiceman juicer instead of the coffee machine. And, by all means, get laid already.
