Default Steal gone horribly wrong

$30 Sit at Party Blinds 25-50
BB is loose passive
Here are stack sizes
sb 355
BB 2090
utg+1 3425
utg+2 550
mp1 440
mp2 335
Hero 730

Hero is dealt K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

It's folded to me and I raise to 150. sb folds and BB calls.

Flop is 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

It's checked to me. I bet 150. Should I give up on steal or with that flop is it ok for the continuation bet? Or should I overbet and push?

BB calls the 150.

Turn is 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

BB checks to me. What's your move?

I wouldn't try to steal with K8o when the BB has t2000 at 25/50 blinds.

[/ QUOTE ]

However, I would in some cases here, just not with that guy in the blind

Clearly. That is what I meant, I just didn't feel like typing it.

bb has WAY too many chips for u to be stealing with k8o here

fold pf

once u didn't check flop

once u didn't, push turn...pot is now 625 and u only have 430 left...u got a piece of the flop with good kicker and u have a gutshot straight draw...he likely has 2 dimes, a 5 or a 7 or 2 overs

but u've committed urself so push the turn with some FE

stealing against big stack = -ev

With the 2 large stacks and the rest pretty small. Is there anything to be said for stealing against the bigs since they will try and fold into the money?

Big stacks trying to fold into the money? At level 3? With this many players?

While I usually shove when I am stealing, I try to mix it up with a smaller raise - to have them thinking I have a huge hand and want aciton.

well it didn't work out and you lost your chance at the $150 (if this was a 33).
