There will be an NHL season this year.

The NHLPA and the Owners have agreed to a $45 million dollar salary cap. Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky were reportedly major contributors in making this "post-deadline" deal to work. This is expected to be formally announced later today. Source: Illinois baketball halftime report on ESPN.

I get to watch hockey, and there is even less of a regular season during which I have to be tortured by my Rangers!

If it happens, I'll watch.

I think Bettman and Goodenow should both be strung up and the all-star teams should take turns hitting one-timers at their nuts.

Yeah, but at least give them a little credit for saving the season after it was supposedly "canceled".

And even more props to the owners for being the first party to back down on something.

I just want to say, on the record, that the Thrashers will own this year. We finally have a non-suck team.

Woohoo!

It's almost Spring. It's too warm to play hockey. March madness and then Baseball. Who needs hockey?

Well, contrary to the first report, there is now this:

ESPN's Newest Article

An official statement has not yet been made, but according to this article, the agreement was again turned down. If this is true I apologize for getting everyone's hopes up as I was apparently misinformed and in error.
