Interesting result. I was thinking out of three players, one would almost certainly have a heart. This begs a good calculation to know. How do you figure the odds on a certain number of cards not having at least one of a particular suit? (In this case six cards.)

I'll attempt an ANALysis off the top of my head. There are 45 unseen cards and 9 unseen hearts. So one out of five of the unseen cards are hearts. There are six cards in your opponents hands, so the odds of one of them being a heart is 5:6.

Does that look right?

If it is, and I think it's at least in the ballpark, it looks like the odds of one of three opponents having at least one of a particular suit is just a little worse than an even bet.
