Default \"High Sierra\" DVD Movie Review

This film stars Ida Lupino and Humphrey Bogart. In my opinion this is the best of the old gangster movies besides Cagney in White Heat. If you are of fan of this genre, don't miss this one. Bogart gives an excellent convincing portrayal of the tough guy playing Roy Earle. What makes this film excellent is it demonstrates how a hardened criminal like Roy can be generous, kind, and ruthless depending on the situation he is confronted with. The script was written by John Huston and W.R. Burnett based on a novel Burnett wrote. The quality of the restoral is excellent with only some minor dirt and scratches. This is the film that made Bogart a star. I give this a rating of 5 stars. DON'T MISS IT.

Good Luck

Mark
