Default 1-2nl 100max live

first time playing nl live

hero: $270

games fairly loose -- rarely see the flop for the 2, common pf raise is to 10 --- ive been raising between 8 - 15 - almost zero chechraising - loose agg image, shifting gears between tight and loose though -

villian $230 -- new player, built his stack up pretty quick and now is losing most of it -- calling down with weak second pairs, calling trying to make running flushes -- playing alot of connecting cards suited or not -- not tricky

bb $400 -- younger player, overplays big pairs, seems decent --- fairly tight - not tricky

villian limps, another limps, and i make it 10 with a [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] a [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], one call behind(lag) and bb calls, others call

pot: 51

flop: 2 5 6 - rainbow

checked to me i bet 20, bb calls, villian calls

pot: 111

turn: 2 5 6 (a) - two diamonds now

checked to villian he bets 20, i make it 70, bb folds and he calls

pot: 251

river: 2 5 6 a (9) - not flush possible

villian checks, i bet 50 -- comments

mainly concerned about betting amounts

cheers

I think every bet you made could've been twice the size you made it.

I think your flop bet was too small. Betting only 20 encourages any decent draw to stay in the hand, which makes me nervous when holding AA. I'd bet around 40-50 on the flop.

I like your raise on the turn.

I'd bet more on the river. If your opponent is checking and calling a hand like A6o, you can charge him a little more. I'd either bet half the pot, or the whole pot, depending on my read. In any case, I think 50 into a 250 pot is too small. If your opponent comes over you now for 200 or 300, you have to consider folding to a possible set. If you bet more, it makes it harder for your opponent to make such a play on you (i.e. bluff the set).

Yes, my mistake. Had a couple beers.

Consider my adivce valid if no ace came on the turn....
