Default BCS or Old System

Most people don't like the BCS which is clear. However, most people didn't like the old system either. So now that the BCS is in is 7 or 8th year we've gotten a feel for how its going to go. Would you rather have the old system back or still keep the BCS?

I would much rather have the old system back as I enjoyed the historical matchups in the bowl games. I enjoyed seeing Big Ten vs Pac 10 every year in the Rose Bowl. However, I don't really care if there is a split nat'l champion as I don't think it discredits either team due to the fact that it is very tough to finish undefeated.

So what is it keep the BCS or go back to old system?

Before you become the jackass that responds with "playoff system" yeah that would be the best but the NCAA has strongly opposed this.

BCS gets it right more often than the old system, so I guess the BCS is better.

(w/o it, there would be no Texas-USC game this year, which would be too bad)

BCS has ruined New Year's Day as the culmination of the CF season...now there are bowls throughout the first week of the new year...lame. I'll take my 12 New Years games over the BCS any day.

And with it we got 2 years of seeing Oklahoma in there. Which was also too bad.

I also much prefer the old system. It made more bowl games more interesting. Sports talk shows were more interesting. I liked the definite bowl tie-ins - Pac 10 v. Big 10 in the Rose Bowl, Big 8 in the Orange, etc.... I hate the BCS. I would much rather have 4 interesting bowls on Jan 1 than one sometimes championship game sometime later in January.

I also agree with this, it was much better hearing sportstalk to broke down all the games and discussed various aspects of the game. With the BCS all the sportstalk is just who got screwed, and who should of gotten a better matchup.

I also liked all the scenarios, like if the #1 ranked team lost and #2 looked bad in a win over a weak team, could the #3 team get the title with a big win over a tough opponent etc.... All that goofy stuff to blather about.
