Re: 77 hand..donked by TAG on turn
I probably play this the same way....you could raise obviously, but you have to call a 3bet, and now you're in a bad spot on the river if the board doesn't pair.

Re: 77 hand..donked by TAG on turn
Given the preflop 3-bet (from the BB, too) and the cards we know, a flush doesn't seem particularly likely on the turn, though A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] can't be ruled out. At the same time, a bet/3-bet attempt with a bigger set is possible. It's also possible Villain planned to checkraise the turn with QQ and then reconsidered when the flush card fell. He's pretty aggressive, though, so I have some doubts about that interpretation, unless he was worried you'd take the free card.
A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Kx sure does seem like a likely hand, so I really kind of want to raise the turn. Waiting and popping a river blank seems like another idea, when you'll probably be at least a little less likely to get 3-bet by a bigger set, since it may look like you slowplayed a flush on the turn. Hmm. I guess I'm saying I don't know what you should do, and that includes the river. Was Villain donking the turn with a spadeless AK? Do we now have a value bet? I guess a bet-fold is an option, and maybe it's best, but I don't like taking bet-fold lines with a hand as strong as a set, versus 3.5 AF guys. I do think I'd raise the turn, though. The more I think about it, the more likely AK, with or without a spade, seems to me. |
