Default ZOO: Please pick a Poker-2-monitor-Dell-system for me:

I want the 2 LCD flat panel system with good enough performance to 12-table party/skins play or to 20-table party/skins datamine. I want the most affordable performance too. I.e. Free would be ideal, but I don't mind paying more for exactly want I want.

It has to be DELL.

OK, I finally have to ask--Is that Aruba, TN or Aruba, IN?
I'm about 200 miles from Paris, myself . . .

How much do you want to spend total on the system?

As little as possible, but with the performance described.

If you want dual monitor support you need the NvidiaŽ GeForce 6800 GTO graphics card and 2 LCD monitors. If you are 8 tabling you want the 2001FP monitors which can show 4 tables each w/ no overlap. I don't think that's gonna be less than $2500 or so minimum but I'd just call them to place an order. Today they are offering $500 off an XPS system, a free 19 inch LCD upgrade and free 2nd day shipping. I'd call them and see how much of a discount you'd get to go to the 20 inch LCD vs. the 19 inch because the 19 inch maxes at significantly lower resolution.

Everything else is plenty good on the XPS system for poker. If you want to make the system a bit longer lived then I'd upgrade to 1 GB of RAM (comes w/ half that default) for $100 more and I'd upgrade the hard drive to at least 160GB (comes w/ half that default) for $40 more.

I know you'd like "as cheap as possible" but a dual LCD system is not going to be cheap no matter what. Those 20 inch monitors from dell (which are still the best to get) are $700 or so each even on sale and more than that regular.

You should have brought this up yesterday. Dell just ended a special where they had $500 off all desktops priced over $1500 AND they threw in a free 19" flatscreen monitor AND they threw in free two-day shipping.

I just bought from them last night a 3.2gHz, 160gig hard drive, 1gig 533mHz RAM, 256meg Geforce GTO card (the kind needed for two monitors), and the 19" flat screen monitor, and a floppy drive with the 64MB flash key memory thingy for $1230, which includes tax and shipping.

I already have a 21" CRT monitor, so setting up the dual screen should be a piece of cake.

For future reference (Dell is trying to jack up their pc sales for the October end of quarter numbers), bookmark www.gotapex.com and visit it daily.
