Default just looking at my stats

I was just looking at my statistics, for the last 3 months, while playing VERY low limit hold-em.

It reads:
Games won 18%
Showdowns won 53%
Number of flops seen 44%
Win % of flops seen 35%
withinin the title 'Where you fold' it had
Pre-flop 53%

Now in an ideal world, i'm thinking my stats should read:
Games won ?
Showdowns won 100%
Number of flops seen ?%
Win % of flops seen 100%
'Where you fold' = Pre-flop 95%

However i realise this is never going to be the case.

My questions are this:
1. what should a REASONABLE percentage ratings read if i was looking to improve my game?
2. what would a pro poker players percentages look like?

(i'm thinking Games won 30%,Showdowns won 80%,Number of flops seen 15%,Win%of flops seen 75%. 'Where you fold'-Pre-flop 90%)

I'm guessing you play at bet365 because they use that format. I am a relatively new player myself and I'm sure that there are other people more qualified to answer, but let me point out what I noticed with your stats. Also, with only three months of play, you may have too small of a sampling to accurately assess the situation.

I would say that you are seeing too many flops - 44% seems pretty high(for a ten seated table), even though these stats don't separate blinds from other positions. But since the "where you fold at" is only 53% pre-flop, I'm guessing you're seeing too many flops. But you already know that because you later say that you should be folding pre flop 95% of the time(how did you come up with that?).

SSHE....

Good luck!

You didn't say if your were winning or losing. This is usually expressed as Big Beats per 100 hands (BB/100).

Rather than number of flops seen you want the percentage of times you Voluntarily Put money In Pot (VP$IP) and this does not include just checking at the big blinds.

How often you raise preflop is important too.

I spent some time with the Wilson software before trying online. I've being playing for 3 months at 0.05/0.10 Limit Hold'em, reading posts here and studying GSIH and SSHE. I'm also careful to pick loose passive tables to play at. I've been using Poker Tracker for the last two months.

My stats after 5.5k hands are:
2.96 BB/100
Games won 30%
Won at showdown 51%
Number flops seen 30% (this includes forced blinds)
Win % flops seen 24%
Folded preflop 69%

Follow GSIH and become at least break even or a small winner. Then go on to SSHE and hopefully become a big winner and start going up the limits.

I hope an example of an actual player like your self will be of use.

ok, where should i start?

first thanks for your replies.-they have been very helpful.

I play mainly on 5 or 6 seater tables on Ladbrokes. i do realise that only three months of stats is limited, but the sooner i identify my weakness, the quicker i can improve.

when i've stated the predicted stats, that was totally 100% off the top of my head, i do not have any evidence to back that up.

now to answer the question about whether i was winning or losing, well i'm winning. now to work out my BB/100, this is where i fall down. the previous thread suggests that it should be the number of big bets???/100?????

please confirm if this is right. i am playing on the $0.10/$0.20 tables. for the last 100 hands i am $3.40 up. therefore this is 17 big bets.

DOES MY BB per 100 THEREFORE READ 0.17 BB/100???????

bb/100 is a statistic that covers all the hands you have played.

Posters here say you need over 10,000 hands to get a significant result.

1. Calculate your total winnings.

2. Total winnings in big bets = total winnings / big bet value

3. Big bets won per hand played = total winnings in big bets / total number of hands played

4. Big bets won per 100 hands played = Big bets won per hand played x 100

Example:
Say you played 4000 hands at 0.10/0.20 (0.20 is the big bet) and your total winnings were $10.

1. Total winnings are $10.

2. Total winnings in big bets are $10/0.20 = 50bb.

3. Big bets won per hand = 50bb / 4000 hands = 0.0125bb/hand

4. Big bets won per 100 hands played = 0.0125 x 100 = 1.25 bb/100

So if you were playing 50 hands an hour online at 0.10/0.20, you'd be earing 2.50 bb per hour or $0.50 per hour.

If you can make 1.25 bb/100 at $3/6 you'd be earning $15 per hour.
These values are all statistical - that is over the long term. One session you might loose but the next you might win etc.
