Default Poker in Shreveport?

I'll be passing through Shreveport and thought about stopping over for a couple of days. The websites for the local casinos dont look too promising for poker action. Can anyone tell me if it would be worth stopping?

Yes it will be worth your stop, but the only casino that has poker right now is the Hollywood Casino. They have a plethora of low limit tables, along with generally great 10/20 tables, and usually an ok 20/40 table.
Also, they usually spread 2/5 no limit, and on the weekends a 5-5-10 no limit game that usually gets pretty deep.

Good luck.

I heard they offer no poker rate and no comps for poker players, is this true?

Also, the rake in Shreveport looks quite bad - 10% with a $5 max.

Fortunately, the Winstar casino in Oklahoma is supposed to start spreading poker games in a month or two. In November, a vote about the legality of table games passed, and now they're in the process of setting everything up. About a 50-60 mile drive from DFW.

Actually, I heard they just started a poker comp rate for stay in the hotel Sunday - Thursday for $50 if you play a substantial amount. Some friends that went last weekend said the floor personnel told thim this. You should double check, though.

Shreveport is a hellhole. If you are really desperate to play cards, you will go there. I rather play online.
