Default Too Aggressive?

Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
4 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls, Hero raises, SB calls, BB calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO calls.

Flop: (12 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (6 players)
SB checks, BB checks, MP2 checks, MP3 bets, CO calls, Hero raises, SB folds, BB folds, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO calls.

My rational for this raise was to try and thin the field. I figured that if I spike a ten or an ace on the turn or river then I'm in a better place with fewer players. Plus, if a blank come on the turn then I might get a free card.

Turn: (9 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
MP3 checks, CO checks, Hero checks.

River: (9 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
MP3 bets, CO calls, Hero folds.

Final Pot: 11 BB

Prior to reading SSH I would have too. But since reading that book my play over all is much better. Something just clicked and I have a much deeper understanding of this game than ever before. And I had read several of Sklansky & Malmuth's books before this one. Thanks for the input.

Why would raising at CO be okay but not at the button. BTW what does CO stand for, I know it's between MP3 and the button.

CO= cut off It's the seat the dealer offers a cut to if you play a hmoe game.

If you raise from the CO you might buy the button.
