****HAND ENDS****

i'm kinda second guessing myself with hands like these... draws with very few players but a pre flop raise so you have the odds to call... thoughts?.. the pot on the flop was 9 dollars and on the turn after the raise i was putting 4 dollars into a 16 dollar pot.. i hessitated putting the raise into it.. but i already put so much money in already and had a straight draw plus a 4 diamond to king high flush draw..

this is from 1000 hands i played at the crypto sites KQo was my biggest loser in those

in those 1000hands you have KQ what 10times? 12?

you shouldn't complain OESD w/overcards is a very solid draw that you will see the river with the majority of the time

I think you should have raised the flop.

You have a great hand with your OESD, two overcards, and a backdoor flush draw. Unless you have a read that SB would pump a flush draw or straight draw, he's betting a J or T which your overcards are good against should you spike one. What you don't want is UTG catching a redraw on you. You have enough equity to raise two callers for value, but will have protected your hand and gained position if UTG folds when faced with two bets.

a pre flop raise so you have the odds to call

[/ QUOTE ]

You raise preflop because you've likely got the best hand, not so that you have odds to call on future streets. A raise is never solely to make your later calls correct.

you played this hand fine, you have 6 outs to the str8 ( 3 non diamond As and 9s), and 9 outs to the flush, plus overcards that might be good. on the flop your hand is worth approximately 10-11 outs, i'd raise here. on the turn your hand is worth approximately 15-16 outs. i raise here as well. you actually have more outs than that but i subtracted 2-3 for the times your drawing dead to the AX [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. you have a strong draw and an equity edge, push it.
