update on bet i took

i took a bet earlier with a friend on who would pitch better post all star break, carpenter or santana

i took carpenter, he took santana in three categories

era, whip, wins

so far carpenter has a 1.83 era, .78 whip, and 4 wins

santana has a 1.82 era, .97 whip, and 5 wins

winner has to win 2/3, a tie is a push.

should i be worried? who do you think performs better down the stretch in these categories?

i purposely made him take out k's, which ironically carpenter is leading 46 to 39.

I would take santana everytime in this bet. He has a much longer track record of success (in terms of era strikeouts whip). sanatana definitely is the more talented pitcher.

Interesting that we both took, in my opinion, this year's Cy Youngs, if I were in charge of voting.

Carpenter though redeeming his late season collapse with a shutout thus far vs. San Diego, aided by some double plays.

Just wanted to give the final report.
