Default Home game probably thought I was a jerk

We had a small buy-in SNG NL game. 20 mins in a player goes bust (20 yr old) and the mom who was also playing says he can rebuy.

I said that was not established at the beginning and should not be allowed at this point. He can wait till the 2nd game and that can be a rebuy SNG if you guys agree.

The game has already started and we are 30 mins in and we should not change the rules. They thought I was an ahole.

Should the groundrules be established prior to dealing the first hand?

A loose player busted out pretty quick in a $20 no rebuy tourney and really wanted to by back in. At first we told him he had to just wait for the next one to start. He kept at it and so we offered to let him rebuy for $40. He gladly accepted and everyone was happy.

I let him rebuy for the same reasons.

I just would like to have known I had the same option at the onset of the SNG. I may have pushed a bit harder with a pair of 8's that I had held earlier.

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask... is the mom hot?

"OK man, you can rebuy, but only 'cause you gotta MILF."

While the rules ought to be established before hand, I've played in several games where we never discussed it till somebody busted out. Par for the course.

I would let him rebuy, and after this I would never let him forget it about the time his mother told his pokerbuddies he could rebuy.

I mean...you got years worth of material here for the max prize of a small buy-in (unless you rebuy).
