Default Standard river fold?

Party 3/6

Villian is 50/20/2.3, 50 hands.

KT in SB,
CO calls, I call (?), BB checks.

Flop: QT4 2 clubs

I check (?), check, check

Turn: 8d
I bet, fold , CO calls

River: 6c
I bet, he raises, I fold

Writing this out actually really makes me question the rest of the hand too, raise pf? I was going for a cr on the flop, maybe just lead? Comments on all streets appreciated

Default Re: Standard river fold?

Raise preflop and bet the flop.

Sure he's a lag, but I still don't think he raises the river with a worse hand in this small pot.

edit: I didn't see the clubs... I think against a LAG check-calling this river might be OK, because it's harder to fold to a raise on such an obvious bluff card, and there's no way he doesn't bet a flush draw on the flop. I don't think he can resist checking behind the river either.
